Education is not only a human right in itself, but an essential right to realise other human rights — and the cornerstone of self-empowerment.
Good Neighbors promotes the right to education from early childhood through lifelong learning, and runs a comprehensive child-protection programme for children most vulnerable to violence, exploitation, and abuse.
What we do
Our focus on the ground
Ensuring quality education for all
We support parents and caregivers, build better school environments, and develop teacher capacity — with special focus on removing the obstacles that keep girls out of school.
Enabling lifelong & adult education
We provide literacy, numeracy, and skills training to adults who missed out on schooling, so they can trade at the market, transact, and empower themselves.
Protecting the most vulnerable children
Our child-protection programme shields children from abuse, neglect, and exploitation through community systems and case support.

School fees paid by Mama Nahyeon
St. Gabriel Nahyeon Community Centre was founded on 3rd March 2017, in honour of Nahyeon, a former director of KOICA who passed away in 2013.
Nahyeon’s family donated to build and run a school in Dandora, Nairobi, fulfilling Nahyeon’s ambition to promote the education of children in Africa — and they continue to do so with the KOICA Family Foundation and Kenya Good Neighbors.
