The challenge
Why this work matters
The right to health is fundamental, yet many people — especially pregnant women and children — still cannot reach crucial services, driving high maternal mortality, child deaths, and infectious disease.
We work to ensure communities can access basic health services, and improve access to safe drinking water and hygiene facilities.
What we do
Our focus on the ground
Universal access to basic healthcare
Through policy advocacy and capacity-building of health providers, plus community-based health assistance, we help families overcome the financial barriers to care.
Maternal, child & reproductive health
We raise community awareness, build the capacity of service providers for mothers and infants, and promote healthy sexual & reproductive practices (MCH & SRH).
Safe water & sanitation for health
We work with communities to secure sufficient safe water and to strengthen good hygiene and sanitary practices.

From the field
Maternal & Newborn Health (MNH) training
In October 2024 our MNH team ran a two-day workshop in Kajiado on Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR) — training participants as Trainers of Trainers for lasting impact.
The workshop tackled the leading contributors to the Maternal Mortality Ratio — post-partum haemorrhage, sepsis, obstructed labour, and eclampsia — a significant step toward saving lives in the county.
